Next morning when the men returned to their work the stone was back again in the same place. How the stone got back no one could ever find out for the stone was very heavy and no one could lift it.
The stone to this day is to be seen on the side of the road. - When St. Patrick landed at Mornington he went about the village. He had nothing to eat since the morning and he saw a lot of men fishing in a stream beside the village. The stream is a tributary of the River Boyne. He went over to the men and asked for a salmon but he refused him. He asked them again for a smaller one but they told him to go away. Before going away St. Patrick put a curse on the stream and said it would be a long time again that they would catch a salmon in it. From that time onward there(continues on next page)
