    In older times peter Gough who was a saddler used to walk twenty two miles to a fair and it took him eight hours to walk this distance.
    Another great jumper was a man named Joe Mc Cormack who often jumped twenty feet, he was challenged by Patrick Fay, but he won the jump and got medals, both of these men lived in Churchtown Navan.
    Kit Mc Dermot was a powerful mower and covered an acre of ground in a days mowing with a scythe.
