- This is how a bargain is made. Supposing a man has a cow for sale, a man walks up to him and says.
"What are you asking."
"twelve pound."
"Will you take ten."
"I won't"
Then an outsider says.
"Let ye divide two pound."
Then the buyer says to the seller,
"Hold out."
and he gives him a slap on the hand
Then the outsider says again
"Will you break the man's word"
Then the seller says.
"I won't. Have the beast."
Then the cow is brought off by the buyer's assistant and the buyer and seller go off to a public house.
"I will have a half of John Jameson."
Then the buyer buys whatever he is giving to take himself and the half pint of whiskey for the seller.(continues on next page)- Collector
