"The Strange Sod"
Long ago unbaptised children were buried in the corner of a field or a garden. Sometimes their friends buried them in the corner of the cemetery.
The place where they lie buried is called by the old folks "the strange sod"
If you walked on this sod in the night you would lose your way. You would be going round in a ring all night and could not get home.
It this should happen to you, the only thing to do is sit down, take off your coat, turn it inside out and put it on again. Then you would see the way to go.
