- There was an old woman long ago & she lived beside Daly's fort in Sheepstown, Delvin she could not pay her rent. One day the grippers came and told her that if she had not her rent paid in a month she would be put out of her land & house & all her cattle taken from her. She (I) went up to the fort & knocked at the door. A lovely lady like a queen came to the door & she asked her to help her. The lady said she would. When the month was up the grippers came again & the woman ran up to the fort & said "You said you would help me. Come along now. A whole lot of fairies came out & beat the grippers away & they never came again.
