- I live in the townland of Clonleam in the Parish and Barony of Delvin. There are eight families in the townland, and Lynch is the most common name. Some of the houses are slated, and others thatched. It is not known how the townland got its name. Mr Michael Gavagan, and Mr James Carroll, Clonleam, Delvin, are over seventy years of age.
Houses were not more numerous in the townland informer days. There are no houses in ruins. The Murtaghs went to America about forty-five years ago.
The land is boggy, and some if it is good. There is no wood near by.- Collector
