The following wild birds are found in our district : - Crows, starlings, blackbirds, thrushes, robins, chaffinches, goldfinches, swallows, swifts, wrens, Willie-Wagtails, magpies, sand-martins, stone chatters, sally-pickers, bats, curlews, cuckoos, blue-tits, jackdaws, seagulls, crested wrens, snipe, plover, partridge, pheasant, grouse, cranes, carrion crows, water-hens, corncrakes, bog larks, sky larks, pigeons, hawks, wild duck, teale, saw-bill-divers, and a few owls.
    Most of the birds in our district migrate such as the sand martins, swallows, swifts, starlings, snipe, cuckoo, curlew, corn-crake, plover, wild duck, saw-bill-diver and teale.
    The following birds build their nests in bushes : - thrushes, blackbirds, chaffinches, wrens, sally pickers, gold finches and crested wrens.
