  1. The farm and domestic animals are home are calves, cows, asses, foals, pigs, goats, dogs, cats, hens and chickens.
The cows on our farm have names. The names of our cows are the Red Cow and Polly. When we are driving cows in or out of a field we say "Sh! Sh!"
The calves on our farm have names also.
The names of the calves are Andy and Marey Carey.
Our cowhouse is built of stones and mortar and the roof is slated. There is a cement floor in it. The cows are tied with chains which are fixed to the mangers with staples. The cows are tied sometimes from the horn to the front leg to keep them from rambling. The cow's tyings are made of iron. The cow's tyings are not made at home but are usually made by the blacksmith.
When we have finished milking the cows we dip our fingers into the froth of the milk and put the sign of the cross on the cows hips and say "God bless you."
We have three asses at home. Their names are Jessie, Charlie, and patsey.
