  2. How Threshing is Done with a Flail

    The man who is threshing first takes the bands off the sheaves and places two sheaves on the floor with the grains facing each other. He swings the flail round his head and hits the grain which flies in all directions. Four or five beats takes off the oats and then the thresher shoves the straw out the door and leaves the oats on the floor till all the sheaves are threshed. Then he gathers up
