flows out of Lough Iron (then the) and flows back down to Lough Glen. It is said who ever lives in between one lake and the other is said to be in the "Islands of Rathaspic".
There are three bishops buried at Lough Glen. If a man who lived a hundred years ago in Corry would not recognise the place if he came back, the bed of the Black River is changed. Of the mill wheel that used to turn so merrily there is no trace, what was then the millrace is now the Black River and the old river is dried. Fairy Hall must have then been a four roomed cottage and has since been extended with two wings and other additions.
There are stories in (addition) connection with Lough Iron, once when the monks of Tristernagh Abbey were rowing in a boat in Lough Iron they lost a relic of the True Cross they prayed hard and after a few minutes searching they found it. There is a bell in the middle of it where it flew from Tristernagh Abbey and people that would be rowing boats would often hit it and when they would go to look for it they would not find it.
Once when a kings daughter was bathing in the Inny she got drowned, her name was Ethna and the river got its name after her
