  1. In the district of Killinrone long ago a woman named Mrs.Costello used spin wool into worsted or yarn. This she did by means of a spinning wheel which was worked by the feet.
At first she cleaned and washed the wool which was the carded and in this way made fine and smooth. Then by means of the wheel she spun it into worsted.
With this worsted she used to knit socks and stockings. When these were washed and bleached they were clean and white as snow.
