  1. Legan, the townland in which I live is in the parish of Moate and and Caulry and in the barony of Clonlonan. There are five families in it with a population of twenty-six people. The houses in it are all slated. My district Legan or (Lagán) got its name because it is a hollow between hills.
    Living in the townland are three old people over seventy. There names are Miss Doyle, Mrs Berry, Mr Carroll.
    There were more people long ago than what there are now. There are three houses with no one living in them. These houses are now cattle sheds.
