with white spots. When our Lord was being crucified and the Jews had driven into his hands and the cross was standing a little robin came along and lit on the cross. When he saw our Lord's hands nailed to the cross he made several attempts to draw out the nails. The robin's beak was too small and while he was thus trying to relieve our Lords pain he tipped against His brow. His breast became stained with Sacred blood and ever since he is called Robin Redbreast.
