- In olden times people used to make toys for themselves.
You could make a top out of a spool pare the top of it and put a nail in it.
You could make a chain out of daisies put a hole in the stem of one and put the rest in the same way.
You could make a bird cage out of pieces of sticks make three sides and put a roof on it and nail it to the sides and a little door on it.
