    In most districts throughout Ireland feasts or Patterns are observed in a special manner and in different ways in each district. St Stephen's day is observed by all, young and old in my district. Most of the young people go out to hunt the wren. They dress up in all colours and styles, even the face is covered with a vizard or cloth fitted with holes for the eyes
