"Páirc na mait" is an old Irish name of a field because in olden days there would be double the amount in it when they would reap the oats of it. In the "Kiln Field" there is a lime kiln and the people called it the "Kiln Field. The "White Field is so called because long ago when the people used it to grow oats or hay in it, it used to be white. The "Grave Meadow" is so called because there are some graves in it of the Croppies who fought at the Battle of Ballinamuck.
