    the boat turned on its side and he fell out and was drowned.
    No one saw the accident occur, when the people missed him and found out what had happened they wondered at such a swimmer as he to be drowned.
    Another accident occurred in the Lake about forty years before the one which I have just described. Major Dopping an Englishman whose house over-looks the Lake had visitors one Summer. One moon - light night he and four of the visitors went out for a sail in a large yacht driven by steam which is still to be seen on the shores of Lough Gowna. The moon and the stars shone beautifully in the deep waters.
    They had guns with them and began to shoot at the moon for past - time as they thought, but alas! they were taking such an interest in the shooting that they forgot they were on the water and two of them fell in and were drowned. It was about nine o'clock
