Fairs were held locally six times in the year.

Fairs were held locally six times in the year. The pig fairs were held in the field before the church and there is a lane beside that field and it is called the "pig lane".
The cattle fair was held in the fair green and for every beast that was sold six pence was paid to the Landlord, that was common at ancient fairs.
The dates of the fairs were fixed according to the dates of Christmas, Easter and all those great feasts.
