- The Haw Haw of JohnstownAt Johnstown Castle there is a very rough old wall called the "Haw Haw of Johnstown".How it got its nameOne time they were building an addition to the castle and when it was finished, they gathered all the stones and bits of mortar that were left over, and put them in a large rough heap. They decided to call it by the first remark that was passed on it, and the first to pass by, was an old man on a horse and car and when he saw it he laughed and said "Haw Haw" so it is called '`The Haw Haw of Johnstown" to the present day.Told to me by
