    After that the father poisoned his daughter so that he would be master of the estates. There was a duel between Hall-Dare and Jarlath's brother Patrick. Mr. Hall-Dare said he was the next of kin. Patrick said that as Evelyn made no will he had a right to the estates. They fought a duel and George Hall-Dare killed Patrick Kavanagh. Mr Hall-Dare married again and he had a son to whom he left the estates.
    If it happened that any of the Hall-Dares had no son They left the estates to a cousin.
