The poem just transcribed was given to me by William Cooper, Monageer son of the poet, and himself a poet.
Emmett's Band came from Dundalk to take part in the celebrations in Boolavogue in 1878.
The local poet thought that this band should have met with a better welcome.
In the last verse however he shows that he is a Wexford man.
Transcribed by a member of our volunteer transcription project.
