    generally thatch their own houses. They thatch with straw and sprays.
    First they get a bundle of straw and pull it twice
    Then they put a knot on the end of it and put it into the old thatch with a thruster.
    They put the sprays along the top of the house.
    Whips are also made here out of cane stick and leather.
    I know a man named John Murphy who makes baskets.
    Before he starts to make a basket he has to get rushes and sallys. He has to peel the sallys and bend them. He puts a board in the bottom and nails the sallies to it, to keep them in their places.
