    when I was ferretting rabbits in Ballymackessy Wood I came across an old statue and on it was a horseman with a rifle.
    He then said when I reached home I told Granny Lynch and she said that a great battle was fought there in 1798.
    Another day I was digging a dyke behind the ditch where I found the statue I got some brass buttons and some heels of boots.
    The ground was soft there so I said it was a grave of a soldier. Granny Lynch's husband had his coffin
