- The "Flue" last year.The "Flu" was in Clara last spring (1937) and nearly every-body had it.
The factory was closed for a week and the schools were all closed for a fortnight.
Mr Dowling died with the "flu" I don't know of anybody else that died with it around Clara. Everyone was very weak after it for a long time.
