  1. There are four forges in Clara.
    The smiths are Ennis, Handy, Hogan and Grady.
    Mr Ennis' forge is situated by a cross-roads. Both Mr. Handy's and Mr. Hogan's forges are situated by the river and Mr. Grady's is by the road-side.
    The forge at the cross-roads is built with stone and has a roof which is made of wood and slants.
    Handy's forge is a forge the like of which you would never see in the whole of Ireland. It is built wih bags and old pieces of iron and old boards of all sizes and shapes.
    Hogan's forge is the ruin of a house which was burnt one time.
