    Blacksmiths in this parish shoe horses and asses and mend farm implements such as ploughs and harrows. When the balcksmith is putting an iron tyre on a wheel he has to light a fire of turf to make the iron tyre.
    There is always a kind of flag outside a forge on which the blacksmith sets the wheel of a cart and then he takes the tyre out of the fire with a tongs and hammers it on the wheel with the sledge.
    Then he sprinkles water on the wheel to tighten the tyre on to the wheel.
