- Warts: A person who has warts and meets a black snail is supposed to stick the snail on a black thorn bush and as the snail whithers the wart will wither too.
- There are certain people who can cure warts in a certain manner whether they are on man or beast.
When you go to the person they mark as many straw crosses as you have warts. Then they make the sign of the cross with the straw and certain prayers are said. Then the straw is buried and as it decays the warts decay with it. If you rub your fasting spittle on warts for nine consecutive mornings and say three Hail Mary's each time it will cure warts.- Collector
