  1. There are four holy wells in our Parish. The Holy Well nearest to our school is situated in Mr. Martin's field near Ballinahown. It is called Tobar Padraig. There is an old tree growinnear it called the Blessed Tree and the well is called the Blessed Well. People go there to drink the water as there is a cure in it. It is believed St Patrick's horse drank out of this well.
    The tree beside the well is supposed to have been planted by the Saint. the tree will fall eighty one years before the end of the world. It is a willow tree. Of late years the well has run dry.
    Killomeneghan.
    There is a holy well here also which was blessed by St Manstan. People visit there on 15th August each year and do stations, that is they pray at the well. When leaving they take a bit of holy clay with them from the brink of the well. They also leave something near the well. This may be flowers, pins, money, or even a piece of rag. There is a bush there and it is almost covered wih things like
