To express the general impression that churches were unusually numerous in the district. - There was an abbey here called Killabhuin in honour of St. Liadhain mother of St. Kieran of Saiger. It is said that there were two acres of land under the building alone. A small portion of the walls is still to be seen.
- On the townland of Cloughal, in the parish of Eglish very where Mass was celebrated in penal times, there were seven holy wells, within the space of a few perches. Five of these wells are still to be seen; the(continues on next page)
