- Girls make necklaces of daisies. A hole is made in the stem of the daisy, with a pin and the daisies are strung together. Boys make tops of thread spools. They pare the spool until it is quite even: then they bore a small hole in it and put in a nail. Boys get thin runner and they tie it on the two pieces of sticks: they put stones in it and hit birds with them.
They make snares out of thin wire: three pieces of wire are put together: a cord is put at the end of the wire: there is a stake to hold the rabbit. These toys are not gone out of fashion but there were many more made long ago.- Collector
