    They took the child an' carried it to the spot an' it roared and cried terrible.
    The poor farmer thought hard o' dropping the child in the water but the priest made him, an' what do ye think when he dropped the child and looked down ther' was nothin' in the water only a big grey stone.
    "Go home now" says the priest an' you'll find your real child in the cradle."
    The farmer an' his wife hurried home an' sure enough there was their lovely healthy child smilin' all over in the cradle.
