- People made bread in olden times. Bread was made from oaten meal flour and potatoes. I dont know where the flour was ground.
There were three kinds of bread oaten bread potatobread and boxty bread. Oaten bread was made of oatenmeal hot water and salt. The meal, water, and salt would be mixed together with a spoon. It should be baked for half a day slowly.
Potato bread Boil some potatoes peel and mash them very fine. Add some salt flour and buttermilk. Mix well for about ten minutes and knead. Place the dough on a greased pan and bake for about two hours.
Boxty bread. Wash peel and grate raw potatoes. Grate them into a crock or basin. Put them(continues on next page)
