    sat for some time. After attending her needs he thought he would take a walk into the village and join his friends at the ceidle and story telling, so he set off. On arriving there the time passed very quickly. Suddenly he discovered he had stayed too long so as to be home in time to give the sick cow her medicine.
    Now there was a near way across the fairy ring which people avoided after sunset. His spirits being high now, he thought "who cares about the fairies," so across the stile and into the round hill he went. A few strides now will bring me to the gate he said, but it seemed to have disappeared. Suddenly he heard music and laughter and a voice close to him kept saying "what about Mulligan's cow".
