- (continued from previous page)Hamilton. It was about four stories high. This week castle was burned about the month of July one thousand nine hundred and twelve. Fortunately the master and mistress were away on a visit on the day of the occurrence. One of the employers first saw the flames burst out of one of the windows on the top storey. He raised the alarm and in about half an hour. Mr. Fletcher and his employers, Mr Gannon, creamery manager and his staff, and also many people from the town, arrived with their water-carts and horses, but it was in vain. Only part of the furniture was saved.
Mr White, saddler, formerly of Killeshandra, County Cavan, risked his life to save one of the maids who was in one of the rooms in the third storey. He plunged through fire and smoke until he reached(continues on next page)- Collector
