- There was a terrible wind storm that swept over Ireland in the year one thousand eight hundred and thirty nine which caused a lot of damage. There were a lot of houses, hay-reeks, and corn-stacks burned down. There was also a snow storm about February one thousand nine hundred and thirty one, with a very strong gale of wind that drifted the snow to about the depth from eight to ten feet.
