    of the party felt uneasy about him, until they saw him go down twice when they got alarmed. They made efforts to save him but he went down the third time and did not come up again.
    The party returned to Killeshandra and the police as a lot of the inhabitants went out to search for the body, but it was nine days before it was got.
    The accident cast a great gloom over the village as O'Connor was a very popular and was a noted singer locally.
