- The ancient Irish people were experts in making all sorts of family toys. They often made doll's houses with wood and carved them beautifully also all sorts of animals. The dolls they made out of wood and painted were very picturesque.
In the winter time they made clavans out of sally rods for catching birds. They also made pretty crosses out of varnished rods and tinsel.(continues on next page)- Collector
