- (continued from previous page)The cure for mumps was made by putting the "donkey's winkers" on the child and by bringing it round the pigsty. A cure for warts was made by washing your hands in a hole of a stone. There is also a cure for "sty" it is got by putting nine goose berry thorns three times to the sty.
- A cure for heart fever was to fill a cup with oaten meal and put it to your heart, if the meal would sink you had heart fever then the meal was baked into a cake and the first three cuts were thrown away and the other part was eaten.
