Dunancory.
Dunancory is a townland about a mile outside Virginia on the Ballyjamesduff road. It is also called "The Fort of the Monastery". It is so called because it is said that there was a monastery there previous to the invasion by Cromwell in 1650.- Collector

- Balaclava.
Ballaclava is a field a quarter of a mile outside Virginia. There were horse races held annually in that field. It was Lord Headfort who gave the field that name. He gave it that name from an incident that occurred as he was racing. There was a swamp in the field. As Lord Headfort was racing through the swamp he caused a great splash. After the race somebody remarked to Lord Headfort that the race through the swamp was like the "Charge of Balaclava". Lord Headfort named the place after that incident.- Collector
