  1. One day a messenger boy was sent by his master with a fish to Dean Swift. This boy was in the habit of going with messages to the Dean, so when he reached the house, he opened the door, went in and left the parcel on the table. He said my master sent me with this present to you. The boy was about to leave when the Dean said you are very rude, sit there till I show you the way to come in. The Dean went out with parcel in his hand, closed the door after him and a short time knocked at the door. The boy said come in please.
    The Dean said come in and bowed to the boy, and said "my master begs your acceptance of this little gift. The boy said thank you very much, please give your master my complements, and putting his hand in his pocket pretended to take out a coin and said here is a shilling for yourself. So while the Dean was teaching a lesson in manners he learned one on generosity. So ever afterwards
