    The following verses were written about the year 1824 - and runs as a dramatic or picturesque view of Erin when such songs were counted treasonable.
    One morning in May as I rambled
    Through Billywood lands I did stray
    By Flora the plains were enamelled
    And Lambkins did sportingly play.
    Down a lonely vale I did wander
    Where I a fair damsel hath seen
    On the banks of a winding meander
    Comprising fair Shamrocks so green.
    The rainment she wore it as homely,
    Her face it was blooming and fair,
    She was virtuous, majestic and comely
    The thoughts of her mind was sincere,
    She was fairer than Herbey or Pandora
    Or Flora, the fair flowery queen;
