    The two goals scored by Boylan were real jems to see.
    Oh! Cavan Town is proud of him
    And proud it well may be.
    And as the sun came beaming on the green and silken moss.
    Our eyes with joy were streaming as we watched the man from Cross
    Young Donald Morgan led the way with talent rich and rare.
    And was a jem that ever shone in the battle with Kildare.

    Mick Dennehey from Cornafean was like a granite rock
    That stood before the Lily Whites their surging waves to block.
    While the artful Willie Connelly like the tide ebbed too and fro.
    And beat a marksman of Kildare of hope and pride Tom Keogh
    The gallant Tom O'Reilly old Cornafean's pride
    Swept through the Kildare marksmen with Dolan by his side.
