With a record so convincing I'm sure you will agree
That the task before our Cavan boys
Was as still as one could be.
But man to man they met them
    The captain and his crew
The lustrous cheers rang in our ears
Go on the boys in blue.

I never saw our Cavan boys
Play as they did that day.
The place it was so cool and the game it was so fast.
Sometimes our men were on their feet and sometimes they were grassed.
But they took their hard knocks smiling as none but men can do
When the green and gold fell victims to our Cavan boys in blue.
    VI
