    has been told about it. A man named Peter Gillic, father of the present Thomas Gillic of Carriga took it from the fort to use it for building. In a short time his cattle took ill and died. He then left back the stone in the place where he got it and his good luck soon returned.
    It is also said that when some of the local boys were returning from a dance one night they heard music and dancing in this fort. Going over towards it they saw little men with red coats and caps on them dancing and singing and playing music. Then they heard someone saying, "Do not touch our shelter".
