    You feeling hearted Christians.
    With pity now draw near,
    And hear a sad and dismal tale,
    Which took place near to here.
    II
    It was in the townland of Nolah
    As you can plainly see,
    When the Gulpin King died.
    On that awful gallows tree.
    III
    'Twas on the twentieth of November,
    In the year of ninety eight,
    He planned an awful murder,
    And took four lives complete.
    IV
    He killed his lawful married wife,
    All in her youth and bloom,
    Likewise his children and mother-in-law,
    The four possessed one doom.
    V
    He left a place called Inniskeen,
    On Saturday afternoon,
    Bound for the town of Carrickmacross
    That place he entered soon.
