A poultice of tea applied to a stye the eye is a good remedy.
This poultice is made by putting a teaspoonful of tea into a small muslin bag and pouring boiling water in it.
It should be applied to the stye as hot as can be borne.
A simple treatment for thrush is to paint the mouth with a little glycerine and borax.
For ringworm a very simple remedy is to dissolve 1/2 lb. of washing soda in enough hot water to dissolve it.
This solution is to be dabbed on the patches of ringworm each day with bits of cotton wool which should be burned after use.
Erysipelas is relieved by covering the affected part with unsalted lard or castor oil
A few lumps of sugar eaten in quick succession will cure heart burn.(continues on next page)
