    The boys of the district went to the shoe-makers shop for a ramble. Owen as usual was preparing a meal for himself. The door was locked and the boys started to throw turf into the can in which Owen was boiling his meal. Owen knew when stirring it that there was something hard in the can. He knew that the boys were trying to play a trick on him. He got into a rage, took up his walking stick and bleached all around him although he could not see anyone.
