  2. A long time ago there was a house in Derryard just near the big hill. A man by the name of Senan Mac Mahon that lived there with his wife. But the time of the high rent he was evicted. The ruins of that old house are still to be seen there.
    There was another house in our Island and Purtells that lived there. They died the time of the great famine. There were another line of houses
