    Piseog day the last day of April is a day for telling piseogs.
    Pancake-day is the before Lent begins. We make pan-cakes on that day.
    On a Monday debts should not be paid or the person who pays them will be paying them for a week.
    On Wednesday it is unlucky to white-wash a house.
    On a Friday morning hair should not be cut because it is unlucky.
    It is said that animals go down on their two front legs thanking God before they lie down.
    If the sun is shining at six o'clock on the morning of a marriage the marriage will be a happy one.
    If a shower comes when a person is just being covered in the grave it is a sign that the person is happy. It is also a sign he is happy if there is rain at the digging of the grave.
    On Saint Bridgets day, the 1st of February the people hang out a black band to get it blessed and also to honour that day. The band is used for a pain in the head or a pain in the ear.
    On Saint Martin's day the 11th of November the people kill an animal to honour that day.
    It is lucky to sow crops on a Friday.
    Long ago it was the custom for the people to sell
