A number of children gather together. One of them is chosen for Jenny Joe, and another is chosen for the mother. Jenny Joe sits behind her mother and pretends to be sick. Then the children catch hands and sing.

and how is she to-day?
The mother sings
poor Jenny Joe is washing, washing, washing
Poor Jenny Joe is washing, and you cant see her to-day.
